What is LASIK? What are its types?
LASIK surgeries are the surgeries conducted with the aim of reducing the patients’ eye power (spectacle number) and to free them from spectacles. Previously, LASIK surgeries only had the standard LASIK option. However, as technology evolved, different types of LASIK surgeries, such as Contoura LASIK, Femto LASIK and Bladeless LASIK (also known as Clear or Smile LASIK) were introduced.

What is the difference between Standard LASIK and Contoura LASIK?
While Standard LASIK treats only the increased eye-power, Contoura LASIK treats the power along with the irregularities on the surface of the eye. It has been proven by the US FDA that this improves the quality of vision. This US FDA approved system is available at all branches of Isha Netralaya.

How is Femto LASIK surgery different from Standard LASIK?
During standard LASIK surgery, the flap is created with an automated blade. For Femto LASIK surgery, this same flap is lasered. Although both methods are safe, Femto LASIK is known to deliver slightly better precision.

What is Clear or Smile LASIK?
In every LASIK surgery, whether done with blade or laser, a flap is made. In Clear or Smile LASIK, creation of such a flap is not required. We generally recommend Clear or Smile LASIK surgery to those who are more prone to eye injuries and to those whose eyesight makes a great difference to their careers, like to athletes.

How is it decided which LASIK surgery is best for a patient?
