TMC collects 213 crore tax under early bird scheme

Thane municipal corporation which is in dire straits due to corona can now heave a sigh of relief as taxpayers availed the early bird scheme of property tax in large numbers. In the last 45 days, TMC has accumulated a property tax of Rs 213 crores.

As there was sparse recovery of taxes during the lockdown and uncertainty about the government aid to curb corona, TMC had hopes only from their Thanekars. Tax payers of Thane, aware of their duty towards their city responded well by paying tax on time. They availed the 10 percent rebate offered in the early bird scheme of TMC, thus aiding the corporation to collect a substantial tax of Rs 213 crores.

Mayor Naresh Mhaske has expressed his gratitude to the citizens.
