Three-Month Awareness Drive Launched to Protect Citizens from Online Financial Scams.
With digital frauds on the rise, the Indian government has launched a special three-month financial literacy campaign aimed at educating citizens on how to stay safe while using online financial services. Running from July 1 to September 30, this initiative will be carried out by the Department of Financial Services under the Digital India Mission. The campaign’s focus is to spread awareness about safe practices while using mobile banking, UPI, and other online financial platforms. Special efforts will be made in rural and tribal areas, where people are often unaware of online fraud risks. The campaign also aims to reach vulnerable groups like women, elderly citizens, and low-income households. Citizens will be educated on common fraud techniques, such as fake calls, phishing links, and fraudulent loan schemes. They will also be informed about how to protect their bank details, passwords, and personal data. Workshops, posters, social media campaigns, and training sessions will be held across districts. The goal is not just to prevent fraud, but to build long-term digital awareness and empower every citizen to make safe financial decisions online.
