Thane’s Anette Gauda Wins Five Medals in Powerlifting-Bench Press Championship.
Makes India Proud at International Event in Japan.
Anette Gauda from Thane has won five medals while representing India at the Asia-Africa Pacific Powerlifting and Bench Press Championship held in Japan from July 6 to 13, 2025. The event was organized by the International Powerlifting Federation and Japan Powerlifting Association.
Competing in the 84 kg weight category, Anette bagged gold in Masters-1 Powerlifting. She lifted 142.5 kg in squat, 75 kg in bench press, and 147.5 kg in deadlift—earning her the gold in overall powerlifting with a total lift of 365 kg.
She also won gold in the 75 kg bench press category at the Asia-Africa Pacific Bench Press Championship.
At 42 years old, Anette has now won two golds, one silver in powerlifting, and one bronze in bench press for India. She trains under Swapnil Patil at Rio Fitness Management Gym in Thane.
