Approval Granted for Thane’s Sky Taxi Survey, Says Minister Pratap Sarnaik
Thane city has received approval for a survey to start India’s first air taxi (pod taxi) service. Environment Minister Pratap Sarnaik said this project aims to ease future urban transport. The Thane Municipal Corporation has allowed a related agency to conduct environmental studies. With a population over 25 lakhs, Thane needs advanced transport options. Air taxis will reduce road congestion and travel time. The planned route is from Kapurbawdi to Gaumukh. This project may also connect to Mumbai and Navi Mumbai in future. The service is expected to launch in the coming years.
