Thane Shines in Cleanliness Survey, Solves Dumping Issues Economically.
Low-Cost Effort, Big Impact.
In the national Swachh Survekshan (Cleanliness Survey), Thane Municipal Corporation has made a mark without spending heavily like top-ranked cities. By solving dumping problems at just 15 key spots, Thane gained recognition.
For years, unresolved dumping issues had tainted the city’s image. But this year, without any special budget, Thane performed better than Mira-Bhayandar, which is among the country’s top cities despite heavy spending.
Waste Management Under Control
A few months ago, Thane faced serious garbage disposal issues. But now, the city has taken strong steps to clean up. To improve its Swachh Survekshan rank, the city fixed problems at 45 locations and avoided high costs.
The central government’s cleanliness survey ranks cities on 3,300 different points. Cities are judged based on garbage collection, citizen feedback, and on-ground inspections. Thane’s efforts in these areas have paid off.
