Thane Municipal Transport expected to earn ₹12 crores in the next five years

Thane Municipal Transport (TMT) is expected to earn around ₹12 crores in the next five years from advertising revenue. 310 TMT buses will go under the hammer as, for the first time since 2016, the tender process for advertising rights on the TMT buses has received a positive response.

Though tenders were issued 10 times between 2016 and 2023, there were no takers. Since 2021, the advertisement process on the TMT buses has been at a standstill. Therefore, the entire tendering process for advertising on TMT buses has been refurbished, and necessary changes have been made to the terms and conditions of the tender, considering the rates of other competitive transport services.
