Thane girls Mahek Pokar and Pradnya Bhagat selected in Mumbai U-19 cricket team

Mahek Pokar and Pradnya Bhagat from Thane have been selected in Mumbai U-19 women’s cricket team. The selection committee officially announced the list of players selected to play for Mumbai U-19 women’s cricket team on September 13. The Women’s Under-19 Selection Committee of Mumbai Cricket Association consists of Ms. Sangita Katware (Chairwoman), Ms. Aparna Chavan, Ms. Sushma Madhvi, Ms. Sheetal Sakru and Ms. Shraddha Chavan. The U-19 Women’s One Day League matches are to be played from September 28 at Rajkot.

Mahek and Pradnya are the students of Sri Ma Bal Niketan High School. While Mahek has been selected for the second time in the Mumbai U-19 team, Pradnya will make her debut. Mahek is a wicket-keeper bat and Pradnya is a left arm seamer. Cricket coaches Darshan Bhoir, Pratish Bhoir and Jayesh Kulkarni have coached Mahek and Pradnya. Ajit Kulkarni has been responsible for the girls’ fitness training.
