Thane district women’s cricket team wins tennis tournament in Nashik
On the occasion of former union minister and senior political leader Sharad Pawar’s 80th birthday, a tennis tournament was organized for men and women between December 11 and December 13 at Pimpalgaon in Nashik district. This was the fourth season of the tournament and it was conducted under the able aegis of Maharashtra State Tennis Cricket Association.
The Thane district women’s team bagged the first position in this competition. The team was led by Simran Tiwari and the other members of the team were, Nisha Dubey, Afrin Padhania, Alfiya Sayyed, Mansi Gadag, Hritika Gawde, Savita Kadam, Rutuja Shinde, Reema Shedge, Deepika Chauhan, Garima Dubey, Sneha Thorat, Poonam Makasare, Aishwarya Gamre, Bhagyashree Vetkar and Ravina Belnekar. Pratik Tupe was the manager of this team.
Under the guidance of coach Swapnil Thomre and coach Zaid Kazi, the Thane district women’s team won the tournament.
