Tanish, Sachin secure Mumbai Police (B) with a 74-run win in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament
Mumbai Police (B) handed a 74-run defeat to Datamatics Global Services on Thursday at Central Maidan in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Mumbai Police (B) scored 214 in 34.2 overs before getting bowled out. Tanish Meher was the top run scorer for his team, as he compiled 44 runs from 45 balls, including five fours and two sixes. Besides Meher, opening batter Tanmay Mayekar (34 runs from 53 balls), captain Swapnil Kulaye (35 runs from 32 balls), and Pradesh Lad (31 runs from 25 balls) were the other major contributors with the bat. For Datamatics Global Services, Shashvat Pathak (2/34), Rohidas Koyande (2/43), and Aaradhya Shende (2/25) were among the most successful bowlers.
In reply, Datamatics Global Services started the run chase on a positive note, courtesy of a 40-run opening partnership between Pathak and captain Malang Aras (17 runs from 23 balls). Pathak (34 runs from 34 balls), who top-scored for his team, did not find able allies except for Adhiraj Dabholkar (27 runs from 39 balls). Mumbai Police (B) bowled with much discipline as they restricted their opposition to 140 in 27.2 overs. Sachin More dazzled with the ball as he snapped 3/14 in his four overs.
