South Africa Women eye T20I series win against India Women
South Africa women’s cricket team finally tasted success after about three weeks. Having suffered defeats in the three-match ODI series and one-off Test, South Africa kicked off the T20I series with a 12-run win. With two more T20Is to play, the visitors will eye another win that will help them pocket the T20I series. The second T20I between India Women and South Africa Women will be played on July 7 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Players to watch out for
Jemimah Rodrigues: India’s middle-order batter struck her 11th T20I half-century in the first T20I against South Africa. Batting at number five, she top-scored for her team as she smashed an unbeaten 53 from 30 balls, including seven fours and a six. She also stitched a 90-run partnership with her captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
Pooja Vastrakar: This right arm medium pacer was the joint-most successful bowlers for India in the first T20I against South Africa. She scalped 2/23 in four overs. Besides her bowling, she can be more than handy with the bat in the lower order.
Tazmin Brits: The South African opener won the player of the match award for her knock of 81 runs that came off 56 balls in the first T20I against India. The right-handed batter steered her side to a competitive score of 189 in 20 overs. She put together couple of big partnerships; one with her captain Laura Wolvaardt of 50 runs and the other with Marizanne Kapp of 96 runs.
Chloe Tryon: The South African all-rounder contributed with bat and ball in the first T20I against India. With the bat, she muscled 12 runs from eight balls, including a six and with the ball, bowling left-arm spin, she claimed the big wicket of star India opener Smriti Mandhana.
Pitch
In the first T20I that was played here on Friday, more than 350 runs were scored. Expect another high scoring contest as the pitch could offer favourable conditions for batting.
