Awareness Session by Savali Senior Citizens Group in Thane.

A special legal awareness session was organized by the Savali Senior Citizens Group in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and PLSS Thane to inform elderly citizens about government welfare schemes and their legal rights. The event focused on helping seniors understand available schemes and how to access benefits. Experts spoke on topics such as senior citizen protection laws, legal aid, and the rights of the elderly. A question–answer session was held to resolve the participants’ doubts. Speakers included advocates from Mumbai High Court and local legal bodies who explained various provisions clearly. Chandrakant Tawde gave information about municipal schemes for citizens. The session encouraged the elderly to be aware of their rights and not hesitate to raise their voice. The session was well-received, and many participants expressed appreciation for the helpful guidance provided.
