Satellite eclipse Vihang Enterprises by 9 wickets in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament
Fuelled by half-centuries from Suraj Sharma and Deepak Gaikwad, Satellite handed a crushing nine-wicket defeat to Vihang Enterprises on Tuesday at the Central Maidan in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament.
Chasing 182, Satellite’s opening pair of Sharma (62 runs from 64 balls) and Gaikwad stitched a match-winning 137-run partnership in 113 balls. The duo played some exquisite shots and dominated Vihang Enterprises’ bowling right from the word go. They hammered a total of 20 fours. After the loss of Sharma, Gaikwad (88 not out from 76 balls) combined with Rohit Sahu (10 not out from 23 balls) and completed the formalities in 27.1 overs with nine wickets in hand. Off-spinner Ravikumar Chaudhary was the lone wicket-taker for Vihang Enterprises.
Before contributing with the ball, Chaudhary made a valuable contribution with the bat as he top-scored with 79 runs from 89 balls for Vihang Enterprises. His innings was laced with half a dozen fours. Besides Chaudhary, Imtiyaz Ahmed was the other major contributor with the bat for Vihang Enterprises as he muscled 41 runs from 35 balls, including three fours and a six. Vihang Enterprises was bowled out for 181 in 34.3 overs.
Satellite’s bowling was led by right-arm speedster Akram Shaikh, who scalped three wickets and was well-supported by off-spinner Vishal Yadav and slow left-arm spinner Shameet Shetty, who claimed two wickets apiece.
