Saraswat Bank closes Times of India’s account in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament
Sanket Kadam’s heroics with the ball guided Saraswat Bank to a clinical five-wicket win over Times of India on Wednesday at the Central Maidan in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament.
Batting first, Times of India were dismissed for a paltry 90 in 24.5 overs. The opening pair of captain Shekhar Kadam (32 runs from 47 balls) and Amey Mahambrey (10 runs from 21 balls), along with Shravan Bhosale (37 not out from 48 balls), were the only batters to score in double digits for Times of India. Kadam, who claimed 7/11 in 4.5 overs, ran through the opposition line-up in a jiffy. Despite being introduced quite late into the attack, this right-arm speedster did not waste any time making the impact.
With just 91 runs to get, Saraswat Bank achieved the target in 19.1 overs with five wickets in hand. Opening batter Mrunal Todankar (21 runs from 33 balls) and Rajesh Sable (25 not out from 46 balls) were the top performers with the bat as they made valuable contributions in the run chase. Pankaj Sawant accounted for two of the five wickets that fell (2/16), making him the most successful bowler for Times of India.
