Route Mobile rout DMCC by 7 wickets in 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament
Flawless Route Mobile registered a seven-wicket win over DMCC on Wednesday at Central Maidan in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, DMCC had a disappointing day with the bat as they were bowled out for a paltry 93 in 25.1 overs. Route Mobile’s Asif Shaikh (4/20) and Hitesh Parmar (4/22) scalped four wickets apiece to rattle DMCC. Shaikh and Parmar bowled seven overs, including 32 dots each. On the other hand, Roneet Thakur was the lone batter for DMCC to score in double digits. Thakur remained unbeaten on 36 from 72 balls.
Chasing a modest 94 for a win, Route Mobile overhauled the target at a canter, taking just 12.2 overs to complete the formalities. Atharva Kale top scored with an undefeated 37 from 20 balls, including five sixes and received good support from opening batter Umesh Gurjar (20 runs off 15 balls) and captain Aayush Vartak (22 not out off 18 balls). In the process, Kale and Vartak stitched a 61-run partnership for the fourth wicket in just 37 balls to steer their side to a clinical victory.
Of the three wickets that fell for Route Mobile, DMCC’s Heramb Parab accounted for two (2/25) and Thakur claimed one (1/17).
