Emotion, one word yet so complex and plays such an important role in our life. We deal with mixed emotions every day but are we ready to talk or share about it with someone? Emotions guide our lives in a million ways. Whether we are inclined to hide and avoid or ponder and express them, most of us don’t realize the extent to which they are driving our thoughts and behavior.
About 8,00,000 people die because of suicide worldwide every year, which is one person every 40 seconds, of these 135,000 (17%) are residents of India, a nation with 17.5% of the world population. The cause of such action is mainly because of heavy competition, petty salaries, responsibilities etc. But people are so tied up in emotions that at times they feel such steps are reasonable that they have no one to talk to or are unable to handle the pressure they are put into.
Through Ankahee Baatein, we at Rotaract Club of Thane Central take a step towards this mind havoc and have organized an online event, which will help people understand that it’s ok to feel sad, cry, emote but it is not okay to bring an end to this beautiful gift presented to us called Life.
We conducted the first session on July 5. We had Ms. Viraja Maganti who is an Emotional Intelligence coach. She spoke about how to deal with such emotions that creates havoc in our mind.
Yes, we are listening… we are here for you and this is not just where we stop… Through the session, we have been advised to always involve ourselves in various social and youth development activities which are regularly organized by organizations like the Rotaract Club of Thane Central. A small step of joining us and sharing your story will inspire many of us.
Your life matters to us. Each life saved is a family saved in the long run.
