Provide vaccines first to the most COVID-affected ward, demands Shiv Sena corporator Siddharth Ovalekar
As per the policy of the Central Government, dry runs were conducted in Pune, Nagpur, Jalna and Nandurbar districts of Maharashtra. Against this backdrop, local corporator Siddharth Ovalekar has demanded to the Thane district Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde that the first vaccination should be done in Ward No. 1, which has the highest number of COVID-19 patients, COVID care centers and COVID warriors in the city.
Ward No. 1 includes people from different strata of society, namely, farmers, tribals, as well as high income earners. During this pandemic, people from all walks of life in the area have shown solidarity and active participation in social work.
The Shiv Sena corporator of Ward No. 1 has demanded that the efforts of COVID warriors should be acknowledged by giving them priority with respect to vaccination. In a letter to the Guardian Minister, Mayor Naresh Mhaske and Thane Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vipin Sharma, Ovalekar stated that he would be ready to extend all the necessary co-operation to the campaign.
