Plan a literary trip to 38 कृष्ण व्हिला
38 Krishna Villa is an intelligently penned play which uniquely touches the hearts of not just general audiences but also those of literature loving spectators.
From the very beginning of the play, playwright Dr. Shweta Pendse’s wonderful sequence of intriguing dialogues manages to keep the audiences hooked to the plot, without zoning out. As 38 Krishna Villa’s plot augments particularly strange questions are induced in the minds of the viewers, subtly beginning various thought processes in their minds. The striking dialogues throughout the play, and especially before the intermission, leaves the spectators wanting to know more. From Wordsworth to Marathi Sant Kavis, this play is full of meaningful literary cross references. The mindfully chosen music and thoughtfully placed pauses and silences in this play make it a delightful work of dramatic literature.
38 Krishna Villa, presented by Royal Theatre, offers instances where Dr. Girish Oak (as Devdatt Kamat) comes up with wholesome, heartwarming and confident dialogues. There are occasions where Dr. Shweta Pendse (as Nandini Mohan Chitre) treats the audiences with some spontaneously thoughtful tear-inducing monologues. During some parts in the play, it is something they do not say that matters! The direction by Vijay Kenkare complemented by the phenomenal contribution of these two impeccable actors makes this play a literary treat!
In 38 Krishna Villa, playwright Dr. Shweta Pendse intelligently introduces the audiences to topics which are seldom discussed in society. Although serious at times, this play also makes the spectators laugh. It beautifully shatters stereotypical thought processes of audiences, managing to present “beauty” in its truest form! The entire team of 38 Krishna Villa (from those erecting the set to controlling the music) needs to be applauded for this amazing experience the play successfully delivers.
Overall, 38 Krishna Villa is a mesmerising play and is worth a watch. Literature lovers are especially advised to grab their seats! The only disclaimer to be given to those looking forward to watching the play is that it will leave an impression on your heart and could elegantly linger in your mind for the time to come!
