Organic Farming Project Begins at Patlipada.

Initiative of Deputy CM Eknath Shinde Now Open to Public.

An organic farming project has been launched on one-and-a-half acres of land in Patlipada under Thane Municipal Corporation. This initiative was developed under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and is now open to the public. The project was started in early 2023 by the Garden Department and Agriculture Division of the corporation. It features the cultivation of various vegetables and fruits like tomatoes, brinjal, chillies, corn, beans, spinach, red amaranth, fenugreek, and more. Fruits like mangoes, guavas, chickoos, bananas, and custard apples are also being grown. The goal is to create awareness about organic farming and healthy food habits. The project was first showcased during an exhibition held by the municipal corporation in February. It is expected to be fully developed by early 2025.
