New parking plaza near Gadkari Rangaytan?

Thanekars will get a new parking plaza soon. The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has decided to acquire Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran division office plot beside Gadkari Rangaytan auditorium for building a parking plaza.

One of the prime spots of Thane, Talao pali has always witnessed tremendous traffic congestion. The civic body feels a parking plaza in this area will help in decongestion. Accordingly, a plot has been identified.

Initially, the TMC’s proposal of acquiring this plot was refused by Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran. But, when the civic body promised to develop a plot of existing size and reinstate them, they agreed. Proposal of new parking plaza will be tabled in the general body meeting on Friday.

Facing perennial parking issues due to space constraint in the city, the TMC is already developing an underground parking plaza at Gavdevi ground. Gavdevi parking plaza which spreads 7500 sq.ft will accommodate 150 vehicles and 140 motorcycles.
