Motorists travelling to Thane and Mumbai from Kalyan and beyond heave a sigh of relief

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) plans to construct a 2.5km elevated road in Kalyan aimed to offer relief to motorists commuting from Ambernath, Badlapur, and Ulhasnagar towards Thane and Mumbai. The tender for the ₹700-crore project will be floated soon.

The elevated road will start from near the crematorium of Vithalwadi on Old Pune Link Road, cross the Kalyan Karjat railway line and then via Waldhuni cross the Kalyan-Kasara railway line. This elevated road is expected to reduce traffic on Waldhuni bridge and Kalyan station road.
