India Women’s U19 (B) cruise to the final of Women’s U19 T20 Triangular Series
India Women’s U19 (B) continued to rule the roost in the Women’s U19 T20 Triangular Series as they registered their fourth win on the trot. India Women’s U19 (B) knocked India Women’s U19 (A) out of the tournament by beating them by 19 runs on Tuesday in Pune.
Riding on G Kamalini’s power-packed innings of 80, India Women’s U19 (B) posted an above par score of 164/6 in 20 overs. The opening batter muscled 10 fours and a six in her 61-ball innings. Captain Niki Prasad (16) and Ishwari Awasare (15) got off to starts but failed to put up a big score. In the end, Mithila Vinod’s cameo propelled India Women’s U19 (B) to breach the 150-mark. Mithila hammered four fours and a six in her 13-ball 25 run knock. For India Women’s U19 (A), Joshitha VJ, G Trisha, and Chandni Sharma scalped two wickets each.
In response, India Women’s U19 (A) were restricted to 145/6 in 20 overs. Bhavika Ahira top scored with 44 runs from 31 balls, including five hits to the fence. But apart from Ahire, no other batter could play the long innings. Sasthi Mondal (20) was the only batter other than Ahire to score 20 or more runs. For India Women’s U19 (B), Anaadi Tagde, Mithila Vinod, and Parunika Sisodia claimed one scalp apiece.
India Women’s U19 (B) will take on South Africa Women’s U19 in the final of Women’s U19 Triangular Series on Thursday in Pune.
