Players to watch out
Yashasvi Jaiswal: This Mumbai batter has been in dream form, scoring two double centuries in three Tests. Whatever this left-handed opening batter has touched has turned gold in this Test series. He will again hold the key to India’s batting success in the fourth Test.
Ravindra Jadeja: Winning the player of the match award for his valuable contributions with bat and ball, the Rajkot boy will look to carry the same momentum into Ranchi. He has been an incredible asset for India in Test cricket as he is a bankable all-rounder and a genuine match-winner.
Ben Duckett: England’s left-handed opening batter was the lone warrior in the fight with the bat for his team in the third Test against India. He scored a brilliant 153 in reply to India’s 445 in the first innings. Having a fair measure of the Indian bowling attack and the conditions, he will play a pivotal role with the bat.
Ben Stokes: England’s captain at the post-match presentation after the third Test hinted at bouncing back strong, so the onus will be on him to lead from the front. In six innings so far in this series, the left-handed middle-order batter has scored 190 runs, including the best of 70. He will have to play an impactful knock to make the difference.
Pitch
The venue has hosted two international men’s Tests (2017 and 2019), of which one ended in a draw and produced a result. The highest total scored here is 603/9d, and the lowest is 133.
