India take on Pakistan in a virtual do or die match

India and Pakistan have had contrasting starts to their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup campaign. While Pakistan kicked off with a stunning win over Sri Lanka in their first match, India, suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of New Zealand. In less than 48 hours, India will be back on field and would want to bounce back stronger. On the other hand, Pakistan would want to carry forward the winning momentum to make a strong case for themselves to qualify for the first time for the knockouts in this marquee competition.

Players to watch out

 Jemimah Rodrigues: India’s number four played some good-looking shots in her brief stay of 22 minutes in the previous match against New Zealand. She scored 11-ball 13. She has been in good form in the recent past and India will bank on her to hold the middle order batting together.

Asha Sobhana: The wily leg spinner of India was impressive in her last outing against New Zealand when she conceded 22 runs in four overs and claimed one wicket. She was the most economical bowler for India in that high scoring match.

Fatima Sana: The captain of Pakistan played a crucial knock of 30 in her previous match against Sri Lanka, batting lower down the order. Also, with the ball, she got the big fish as she dismissed the opposition captain Chamari Athapaththu in the third over of the innings.

Sadia Iqbal: The crafty left-arm spinner of Pakistan was the pick of the bowlers for her side in the previous match against Sri Lanka. She scalped 3/17 in four overs.
