IMD forecasts heavy rainfall in Thane over the next two days

Thane city and adjoining areas are likely to get heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next two days. The IMD’s Mumbai centre has issued an orange alert for coastal districts as well. IMD’s Dy Director General KS Hosalikar said, “IMD GFS forecast for rains indicate heavy to very heavy with possibilities of isolated extremely heavy (more than 200mm) rainfall over Konkan, including Thane today.” Tomorrow’s trend is expected to continue with little reduced intensity, he added.
