FORTIS HOSPITAL MULUND ORGANISES – BRAIN TUMOUR SUPPORT GROUP PROGRAMME

Fortis Hospital Mulund organised a support group programme recently for patients (who battled Brain Tumour) and their caregivers.The event was aimed at uplifting the patient spirits and assuring them that a fight against this disease is ‘not the end of the road’, while also providing caregivers with the correct information and tools they require to manage their loved ones.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr S Narayani, Business Head – Fortis Hospitals, Maharashtra, said, “Brain Tumour patients, along with their caregivers, require a lot of personalized care and motivation to tackle this illness successfully. The idea behind this initiative is to help patients and caregivers share personal experiences and coping strategies so that their journey of survivorship is smoother and fulfilling.”
The event concluded with a singing performance by Mr Anand Menon.

Attended by more than 150 patients and their caregivers, the event was conducted by Dr Gurneet Singh Sawhney, Senior Consultant-Neuro & Spine Surgery and Dr Jayesh Sardhara, Senior Consultant-Neuro & Spine Surgery at Fortis Hospital, Mulund, along with Mr Naveen Kumar Khare, a motivational speaker & counsellor. The programme focused on promoting methods to improve rehabilitation and support for people diagnosed with this ailment, while providing them with a platform to share their learnings & experiences.
