FIDE Master Nitin Potawad Wins Chess Title Unbeaten
Thane Player Claims Champion’s Trophy in Open Rating Tournament
FIDE Master Nitin Potawad remained unbeaten and won the Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament organized by Rotary Club of Thane North and Pinnacle Chess Academy. The event was held at Rotary Club Hall in Thane.
Potawad scored 7 points using a Swiss league system and defeated top-ranked players to win the title and a cash prize of ₹35,000. Haryana’s Master Kurukshetra came second with 6.5 points and won ₹25,000. Ankur Mishra secured third place with 6 points and received ₹20,000.
The tournament saw strong participation and was inaugurated by club members and dignitaries. Prizes were distributed by club president Mamta Vanzani and others.
