England A women level the T20 series 1-1 against India A women

England A women put up a stellar show against India A women on Friday as they registered a four wicket win in the second T20. The three-match T20 series between India A women and England A women is evenly poised at 1-1.

Batting first at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India posted 149/9 in 20 overs. Kanika Ahuja (27 runs off 14 balls), Uma Chetry (26 runs off 14 balls), and Arushi Goel (26 not out off 26 balls) made useful contributions with the bat. However, none of the Indian batters could score big as the England A bowlers kept coming at them. Kirstie Gordon was the pick of the bowlers with 28/3 in four overs and was well supported by captain Charlie Dean, who snapped 36/2 in her four.

In reply, England A, after having lost the previous match marginally by three runs, were determined to bat big and deep. They overhauled the target in 18.5 overs with four wickets in hand. Grace Scrivens (39 runs off 34 balls) and Issy Wong (35 not out off 15 balls), who also claimed a wicket early in the day, starred with the bat. India A captain Minnu Mani was the most successful bowler for her team with 29/2 in three overs.

With everything to play for in the third T20, India A women and England A women will meet next on December 3 at the same venue. The match will start at 1.30pm and will be broadcast live on Jio Cinema.
