Dolcé café- the talk of the town

The Dolcé Café is a dessert and continental food-oriented café located in Unnati Woods, Kasarvadavli, Thane west. It has become quite the hangout spot for many high school students. The café is owned by Mrs. Asmita Patil, 32 and is open from 8:30 am to 11:30 pm, every day of the week. She has completed HM (Hotel Management) in baking from IHM-Nerul. After finishing her degree, she interned at the “Little White Oven” which is a bakery owned by Mrs. Gauri Kekre. Mrs. Kekre mentored Mrs. Patil and empowered her to start her own bakery. She is happily married to Mr. Nitesh Patil and has a five -year-old son called Ishaan.

Growing up, she always knew that she wanted to become a businesswoman. “Where I come from, girls who are studying are frequently asked this question, ‘what’s the point of studying? You’ll end up marrying someone one day’. I wanted to prove them wrong since day one and with my family’s support, I was able to achieve it,” she said.

The café opened in June 2022 and since then, the customer response that the café received was very fulfilling. It is a modern café with exceptional interiors, eye-catching décor, sturdy furniture, and aesthetic plants. It is the only place in the neighbourhood which serves a full English breakfast. From doughnuts to macrons, they make everything on their own. Baked cheesecake, Prawns Okra Soup and Lamb Rack are their best sellers. Mrs. Patil always wanted to open her own bakery but ended up turning it into a café. It has two separate kitchens, one for baking and the other for continental food.  Her in-laws and immediate family strongly stood by her and helped her achieve her dream. The café is highly appreciated by the students and the women of the Kasarvadavli neighbourhood. 15% off on student IDs is their ongoing discount and they are soon going to launch a pocket-friendly menu specially for students. Mrs. Patil plans to open another outlet or a small cake shop in Thane city by the end of next year.
