Can Scotland beat South Africa to win their first-ever T20 World Cup match?

Playing their first-ever T20 World Cup, Scotland may not have won any match so far in this tournament, but have won hearts with their positive intent to play at the highest level against worldclass players. In their third match of this ninth edition of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Scotland takes on South Africa on Wednesday in Dubai. While Scotland are yet to open their account in the points table, South Africa have two points in their kitty, having won one and lost the other.

Players to watch out

Ailsa Lister: This right-handed middle-order batter of Scotland top scored for her team in the previous match against West Indies. She mustered 26 runs from 33 balls, including one hit to the fence.

Olivia Bell: This right-arm off spinner of Scotland was the pick of the bowlers for her side in the previous encounter against West Indies. She scalped 2/18 in three overs. She was also the most economical bowler for her team.

Laura Wolvaardt: The South African captain gave a good start to her team with the bat against England in her previous outing as she scored a patient 42 from 39. Her innings was laced with three fours. She held the team’s batting together as she was there in the middle till the 16th over.

Marizanne Kapp: This dashing all-rounder from South Africa made useful contributions with bat and ball in her previous game against England. Batting at number four, she muscled 26 from 17 and then opening the bowling claimed 1/17 in four overs, including two maidens.
