Can England Women stop India Women from winning the ODI series?
After beating England Women by four wickets in a run chase of 259 in the first ODI on Wednesday at The Rose Bowl in Southampton, the visitors registered their first-ever ODI win at this venue, having lost their previous two way back in 2006. From Southampton, both teams travel to London, to play the second ODI on Saturday at Lord’s, the Home of Cricket. With the three-match ODI series on the line for England, expect Natalie Sciver-Brunt and co. to come out all guns blazing. On the other hand, India would look to keep the winning momentum and take an unassailable lead.
Head-to-Head
England and India have played 77 ODIs against each other, of which England have won 40 and India have won 35. In England, the head-to-head battle reads 24-10 in England’s favour. At Lord’s, England and India have played four ODIs and each of them have won twice.

Players to watch out
Sophia Dunkley: Celebrating her birthday in style during the first ODI against India, this right-handed middle-order batter of England muscled 83 off 92. Her innings was laced with nine fours. She was involved in a 100+ stand with Alice Davidson-Richards and 50+ partnership with Sophie Ecclestone.
Sophie Ecclestone: The world number one ODI bowler was the most economical bowler for England in the first ODI against India. The left-arm spinner gave away just 34 runs in 10 overs, including one maiden. She accounted for the big wicket of India opener Pratika Rawal, who was looking set for a big score.
Deepti Sharma: This worldclass all-rounder from India was promoted to number six in that crunch situation against England in the first ODI. The left-handed batter top scored with an unbeaten 62 off 64 to steer India to victory. She may not have picked up a single wicket in her 10-over spell, but she more than made up for it with the bat.
Jemimah Rodrigues: This India’s middle-order batter held the fort for her team in the first ODI against England. Unlucky to miss out on a well-deserved half-century, Rodrigues stitched a crucial 90-run partnership with Deepti Sharma for the fifth wicket to keep India’s hopes alive in the match, which seemed to be hanging by the thread when they lost four wickets for 124. Besides her batting, she was impressive on the field with that breathtaking catch to dismiss England’s captain Natalie Sciver-Brunt.
