BJP stages protest for reopening of temples in Thane

Several BJP activists on Saturday staged protests outside temples in Thane demanding the reopening of places of worship, which have remained shut during the COVID-19 induced lockdown.

BJP legislators, corporators and office-bearers led the protests in Thane, with activists resorting to ‘ghanta naad’ (ringing of bells) and banging of plates outside temples.

MLAs including Sanjay Kelkar, Ravindra Chavan, Ganpat Gaikwad, Thane city president and MLC Niranjan Davkhare, corporator Sanjay Waghule, Manohar Dumbre, Kamal Chaudhari, Mukesh Mokashi, Ramesh Ambre, Sneha Ambre, Bharat Chavan were among those who were part of the protest.
