Ashwin Shelke’s 6-for powers United Patni Industries to a win in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament
Fuelled by Ashwin Shelke’s terrific six-wicket haul, United Patni Industries pipped Abhyudaya Bank by eight wickets on Wednesday at Central Maidan in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament.
Shelke ran through Abhyudaya Bank’s batting line-up in a jiffy as he scalped six wickets in 3.1 overs, including one maiden. The left arm spinner conceded just six runs in his spell and did all the damage. Abhyudaya Bank’s opening batter Rajesh Vichare (28 runs from 40 balls) was the lone warrior in the fight as he was the only one who scored in double digits. Abhyudaya Bank was bowled out for a paltry 63 in 16.1 overs.
In reply, United Patni Industries achieved the target in 10.2 overs with eight wickets in hand. Dishant Kotian (28 runs from 32 balls) and Akshay Lanjekar (21 not out from 21 balls) were among the top run scorers in the run chase. Besides Sanjog Patil, who claimed two wickets, none of the other bowlers of Abhyudaya Bank could get their wickets column ticking.
