Aayush, Aarya, Vihaan steer St Joseph’s Dombivli to a win in Harris Shield
On November 2, St Joseph’s High School, Dombivli beat CP Goenka International School by a mammoth margin of 484 runs in the first round of Harris Shield.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first at the Azad Maidan, St Jospeh’s High School, Dombivli posted 286. After the early dismissal of opener Vihaan Wagh, captain Aayush Ambekar and number three batter Aarya Sagare batted cautiously as they ran well between the wickets and punished the odd bad balls for boundaries. They stitched together an unbeaten partnership of 231 runs for the second wicket. Aayush Ambekar scored an unbeaten 142 and Aarya Sagare muscled an unconquered on 128. As the opposition couldn’t bowl the full quota of 45 overs on time, penalty was awarded to St Joseph’s High School, Dombivli and hence the total went past 500.
Later in the day, St Joseph’s High School, Dombivli bowled out the opposition for just 78 runs, with Vihaan Wagh picking three wickets.
