Wavikar Eye Institute performs surgery on Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde
Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Eknath Shinde underwent sophisticated cataract surgery on his right eye at Thane’s Wavikar Eye Institute (WEI) on February 2. Dr Chandrasekhar Wavikar, founder of WEI, performed surgery on CM Shinde.
CM Shinde had an eye examination at WEI on February 1, and surgery on his right eye was recommended. On February 2, CM Shinde was accompanied by his wife, Lata Shinde, to the hospital and was admitted at 8:30 am for the surgery.
The surgery was completed in just eight minutes with the help of advanced technology, including an American lens. After that, the CM was given the discharge at around 10:00 am. Dr Wavikar said, “No injection was given to the CM during the surgery. Only eye drops were used as anaesthesia.”
