Dr. Anil Heroor’s Anil Cancer Clinic is a chain of daycare Chemotherapy centers in Thane, Mulund and Dombivali that are designed to give a personalized care and assistance to Cancer patients. “Chemotherapy is a process where patients have to travel far distance to avail these services. Dr. Anil Heroor exclaimed, “My grandfather, my mother and my maternal uncle were all doctors that is why, since childhood, even I aspired to be a doctor.” Dr. Heroor completed his basic training from Tata Memorial Hospital and his MBBS from the Seth G. S. Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai. He did his General Surgical training from the LTMG Hospital, Mumbai. He was adjudged 1st in LTMGH in MS and received Wockhardt award for the same. After completing MS, he did his Surgical Oncology training at the Tata Memorial Hospital, performing numerous cancer surgeries. He has numerous publications including International publications to his credit.
Apart from taking care of Anil Cancer Clinic, Dr. Anil heads the Surgical Oncology Unit at Fortis Hospital Mulund. The Unit does about 500 cases every year. He has started the MINIMAL ACCESS ( Laproscopic ) Surgery Unit in Fortis Hospital for Colorectal Cancer. In addition, he conducts regular CMEs and is also the Secretary of Surgical Society Thane. He is also attached to Kaushalya Medical Foundation, Thane.
He is active in social causes having organised numerous awareness programmes in schools , senior citizens clubs and society in general. He is a trustee of GKC trust which works for the eradication of the tobacco habit in society. He is also on the board of Adhar Rekha Pratisthan which works for Cancer patients in Thane.
Dr. Anil Heroor has an able ally in his wife Dr. Anagha Heroor, an Ophthalmologist, who now looks after Anil Eye Hospital (AEH) that offers key eye care services which are backed by sound infrastructure, processes and expertise. AEH was the brain child of Dr. Uma Heroor, Dr. Anil’s mother. She was one of the first eye surgeons to start practice in Dombivali.
AEH boasts of spacious interiors, high sterility and cleanliness standards with medical staff treating each patient with a personalized care. In 1997, the hospital expanded under the leadership of Dr. Anagha Heroor, an experienced and skillful surgeon.
