Mumbai Cricket Ground to Get National Recognition

A cricket ground in Mumbai, which was once used as a COVID center, is now being transformed into a proper cricket training space. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and local authorities have taken the effort to upgrade the ground, which may soon be recognized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The ground has already hosted multiple matches and training sessions. Around ₹90,000 has been spent so far on development, without putting a financial burden on the city. Authorities believe this ground can now become a permanent training and practice center for young cricket players in the area.

The ground will offer modern training facilities, especially helpful for under-privileged players who cannot afford private coaching. This step could help identify new talent from the city. There is also strong support from the municipal corporation to provide regular maintenance and basic amenities like washrooms, benches, and changing rooms. If approved, the ground will become an official part of India’s cricket infrastructure.
