Rakhis with a Message: ‘Speak with Love, Speak in Marathi’

A group of women entrepreneurs have created unique rakhis promoting the use of Marathi language. These rakhis carry messages like “Speak in Marathi” and “Speak with Love.” A total of 18 types of such rakhis are now available in local markets. This initiative encourages cultural pride and promotes Marathi among younger generations. Over 50 women from self-help groups are involved in making these rakhis. Each rakhi is made using eco-friendly materials and traditional styles. The makers believe that festivals like Raksha Bandhan are the right time to spread social messages in creative ways. These specially made rakhis have received a positive response and are gaining popularity in various parts of the city.
