Old Peepal Tree Stands Tall Again in Nerul
Municipal Efforts Restore 20-Year-Old Tree Uprooted by Storm
Navi Mumbai: Due to strong winds and heavy rains last week, many trees in the city were uprooted. One such 15–20-year-old Peepal tree in Nerul Sector 58 had fallen but has now been restored upright by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) garden department.
The tree was located near the Vashi housing society in Sector 58. After the storm, local residents immediately informed the municipal officials. Senior officer Tukaram Sinde and his team responded quickly and assessed the condition of the tree.
Recognizing it was still alive, they planned to replant it. Within two days, garden officers and staff dug a large pit, carefully trimmed damaged roots, and replanted the tree with proper support and water.
Thanks to their timely action, the old Peepal tree is standing tall once again, bringing relief and joy to the local residents. The NMMC team was praised for this eco-friendly effort.
