All-Rounder Shoaib Sayyed dazzles for NBEE in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament

Riding on prolific all-round performance from Shoaib Sayyed, NB Equipments and Engineering (NBEE) defeated Zee Entertainment by 80 runs on Friday at Central Maidan in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament.

Winning the toss and electing to field, Zee Entertainment invited NBEE to bat first. NBEE posted a challenging score of 177 in 27.1 overs, thanks to Sayyed’s innings of 44 runs from 35 balls that included four fours and two sixes. Opening batter Azhar Ansari (25 runs from 27 balls) gave a good start and batted well with Bhushan Sawant (31 runs from 36 balls) to set a steady foundation. Later, Tanmay Keni played a 17-ball cameo smashing five fours in his 28-run knock. NBEE were bowled outside inside 35 overs, with Shashikant Latekar (3/39) being the pick of the bowlers for Zee Entertainment.

In reply, Zee Entertainment had a horrid day with the bat as they were bundled out for 97 in 27.2 overs. Sayyed starred with the ball too as he scalped 4/24 in seven overs, including one maiden. Complimenting his contributions with the bat, Ansari chipped in with three wickets with the ball. Among the batters of Zee Entertainment, opener Darpan Mehta top-scored with 17 runs from 20 balls, including three hits to the fence.
