Satellite’s Shamit Shetty shines in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament

Shamit Shetty’s five-wicket haul powered Satellite to an emphatic six-wicket win over CEAT at Central Maidan on Tuesday in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament.

Batting first, CEAT were bowled out for 104 in 21.4 overs. Left arm spinner Shetty scalped five wickets and was the most successful bowler for Satellite. He received good support from Omkar Karandikar and Atharva Chavan, who claimed two wickets apiece. On the other hand for CEAT, opening batter Akash Patil was the top run getter with 29 runs from 22 balls, including five fours.
Chasing a modest score of 105, Satellite overhauled the target in 19.4 overs with six wickets in hand. Opening batter Deepak Gaikwad led the run chase from the front scoring 37 runs from 38 balls, including half a dozen fours. His opening partner Suraj Sharma (24 runs from 17 balls) and middle order batter Nirdosh Yadav (28 runs from 42 balls) were the other major contributors with the bat for Satellite. For CEAT, Utkarsh Hajare, Aniket Jadhav, Subhash Chourasiya, and Suyash Mane chipped in with one wicket each.
