Before the next year’s IPL, Mumbai ready to host ISPL: Indian Street Premier League
Gully cricket is an emotion in Mumbai. Feeling the pulse of this emotion, CCS Sports LLP announced the launch of Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) during a press conference held on November 27. Former India cricketer Ravi Shastri has been appointed as the commissioner of the ISPL.
The ISPL will be played from March 2 to 9 next year and will see six teams, namely, Mumbai (Maharashtra), Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Kolkata (West Bengal), and Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir). The tennis ball tournament will be played in the T10 format inside stadium amid thousands of fans.
Player registration

Step 6: Upload up to 4 playing videos with self-introduction
Step 7: Select your city for potential participation in upcoming trials if shortlisted

Player selection process
Former India cricketers Jatin Paranjpe and Pravin Amre are the members of the selection committee. While Paranjpe will be responsible for Zone 1 that includes Mumbai, Chennai, and Srinagar, Amre will take charge of Zone 2 that includes Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.
The registration process will close on December 20, 2023. The players will be shortlisted on the basis of profile and skill sets. If shortlisted, the players would have to travel to mentioned cities for city trials as per their selected city during registration.

The selection committee will select 350 players that will go under the hammer during the auction. The final auction will be held on February 11, 2024 at Sofitel in Bandra Kurla Complex.
Squad formation
Every franchise will have a purse of ₹1 crore and can pick a maximum of 16 players. The base price for each player will be ₹3 lakh. Besides players, every team will have a six-member support staff, including coach, assistant coach, physio, trainer, masseur, and team manager. The overall fee of support staff will be ₹10 lakhs. In addition, every team will have to reserve ₹15 lakhs towards a mentor, who is an ex-Ranji player.
Own a team
The bid to own a team is open from December 15, 2023 to January 15, 2024. A bidder must bid for all six teams. Franchise will be awarded to the highest bidder on January 21, 2024. In case of a tie, an open bid will determine the highest bidder and award him/her the franchise.
