‘Sarasvi Times’ unveiled at SVPT’s Kavesar premises
Only if students develop a taste for reading will they turn to write. Keeping this idea in mind, a ‘Sarasvi Times‘ newsletter was started by the Saraswati Vidya Prasarak Trust (SVPT) in Thane. Its grand release was held at the school’s Ghodbunder Road School on November 14 to commemorate Children’s Day.
Mrs. Meera Korde, Chairman of SVPT, Mr. Sachin Mirani, Trustee of SVPT, Mr. Milind Ballal, Editor of Thanevaibhav and KYT, and Mr. Nikhil Ballal, Managing Editor of Thanevaibhav and KYT, were some of the dignitaries present during the inauguration ceremony of the newsletter.
Mrs. Manjusha Ballal, Principal of SVPT Ghodbunder, welcomed everyone and informed them about this innovative initiative. Mrs. Korde thanked the Thanevaibhav – KYT family. She said, “This initiative will lead children away from social media and towards traditional media.”
Mr. Milind Ballal added, “Newspapers, which introduced children to the world, have lost their place due to the growing influence of social media. This mouthpiece will boost their creativity and vocabulary to express themselves.”
“Saraswati schools got the first honour of starting such an activity. ‘Sarasvi Times‘ will work to promote the students’ talents and present the happenings in the schools to society,” noted Mr. Nikhil Ballal.
On this occasion, Nishant Budhisagar and Amogh Dhavalikar, students of SVPT Ghodbunder and SVPT Rabodi, respectively, expressed their views on behalf of the students. Mrs. Anita Pinto, Principal of SVPT Rabodi, rendered a vote of thanks.
