The bug of business bit Gauri Gupte, a freelance graphic designer, artist, and full-time housewife, when she decided to start her venture, ‘Marinades.’ True to its name, Gauri offers a delectable range of fish marinades.
Considered one of the tastiest meats, fish is a very demanding food item since it involves a lot of cleaning and processing before it is ready to eat. Gauri avers, “I conceived the idea of Marinades on the back of my conversations with my friends and relatives. During our chats, we often discussed that cooking fish is time-consuming. Though the meat is delicious, the time it takes to get ready often discourages people from cooking fish at home. Given this, I decided to start something that would save not only time for the fish lovers but also their effort.”
Before establishing Marinades as a brand, Gauri started supplying marinated fish and chicken a year ago. Surmai, rawas, prawns, chicken lollipops, crabs, etc., were some of her offerings. Gauri adds, “Fish cutlet is one of our hot items. These cutlets can be kept in your refrigerator for 10-15 days, whereas the marinated items can be kept for four to five days. Our prices depend on the size of the fish and the number of individual orders. Apart from offering marinated meat, we have different masalas on our menu.”
