Strong action against unauthorized constructions in Kalwa, Mumbra and Diva
Thane: The encroachment department of Thane Municipal Corporation has finally hammered the unauthorized constructions in Kalwa, Mumbra and Diva areas. One unauthorized construction in Kalwa has also been charged under the MRTP act.
Unauthorized construction was in full swing as all government systems were busy in Covid duty. Extensive construction was carried out in some places of Kalwa and Mumbra. Finally, on Thursday, action was taken against a two-storey building in Manisha nagar area of Kalwa.
The builder has been charged under MRTP. The second action was taken in the market area of Kalwa. Action has also been taken on increased unauthorized constructions in the Diva area. In Mumbra, however, action was taken to demolish the old dilapidated Priyanka building, which had become more dangerous in this monsoon. Shri Ganesh building which is adjacent to it was also vacated. However, the administration has clarified that action will also be taken on unauthorized constructions in Mumbra.
The question now is how the administration was negligent when these constructions started unabated. During the three months of the lockdown, it was reported that a five- to seven-storeyed tower was also erected.
Kalwa-Mumbra MLA and State Housing Minister Dr. Jitendra Awhad has also drawn attention to these unauthorized constructions. Dr. Awhad has appealed to residents to voice complaints against unauthorised construction by sending photos of unauthorized buildings erected in their vicinity.
