Local Service Projects Uplift Senior Citizens, Students, and Villager

 

Rotary Club of Thane Aces

Senior Citizen Mela “RAINBOW” 

The celebration included three health awareness talks by senior doctors on cardiology and orthopedics, emphasising preventive care for senior citizens. Chief Guest Rtn Milind Ballal, Editor-in-Chief of Thanevaibhav, delivered an inspiring address on the enduring companionship of senior couples and commended the initiative, while Saurabh Gupta, Regional Director of KIMS Hospital, praised the seniors’ active participation.

Short Film Festival – Chitrabharti

The Rotary Club of Thane Aces hosted “Chitrabharti,” a short film festival and flagship project, in association with Prabhat Chitra Mandal at Gadkari Rangayatan, Thane. Following a successful debut last year at Mumbai’s Ravindra Natya Mandir, the club brought this unique celebration of meaningful storytelling to Thane to engage local cinema enthusiasts.

Vocational Tour for Students

A vocational tour to the manufacturing unit of Prashant Corner, located at Wagle Estate, was successfully conducted in collaboration with IWC Thane Shining Stars. The visit proved to be highly useful and informative for all participants. The factory, especially the 4th floor, is a fully state-of-the-art facility, maintained with excellent hygiene and cleanliness. Students were excited to observe the complete process of making sweets and farsan, gaining practical insights into large-scale food production. The project was organised for Prathvi Raj High School, Thane.

Pediatric Heart Surgeries

The club sponsored two pediatric heart surgeries at KIMS Hospital, Thane. The members personally visited the hospital at the time of the children’s discharge and interacted with their families. The parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the timely support, which made these lifesaving surgeries possible. This meaningful project not only transformed young lives but also reinforced the club’s commitment to serving those in need. 

Eye check-up and Gynaecologist camp

The Eye Camp was conducted with the Interact Club of Anand Gurukul at Savaroli Village, Shahpur. During the camp, 40 villagers were detected with cataracts and have been referred to Wavikar Hospital for free-of-cost surgery. Club member, Dr Pratibha Gupte, conducted a Gynaecologist checkup. The project was under disease prevention and treatment, Community.

Blood Donation Drive

In association with Arpan Thalassemia Society, RCTA organised blood donation camps at Sunrise Business Park, Wagle Estate, Thane, and Shree Ganesha Mandal, Uthalsar, Thane. The drive received an excellent response, and we successfully collected 118 units of blood, which were used for lifesaving blood transfusions for children suffering from thalassemia.
