Opposition Trashes TMC’s 3-Star Waste Rating

Shanu Pathan, Leader of the Opposition, has mocked the three-star rating of the Solid Waste Management Department by the TMC commissioner. This critique comes following the presentation of the municipal budget and the mention of significant green bonds.

Pathan remarked that praising the Solid Waste Department is no short of a joke. He stated that while garbage might not be visible in some parts of Thane City, there are massive heaps of trash in Mumbra, Kausa, and Diva areas due to a complete lack of a waste transport system.

“We want to know which binoculars the agency used to see these results; please give the binoculars to us as well,” said Pathan.

He further questioned whether the Solid Waste Department would suddenly jump to a five-star rating after the issuance of 62 crore worth of green bonds.
