Traffic Riders to the Rescue

To ensure SSC and HSC students reach their exam centers on time despite traffic jams, vehicle breakdowns, or train delays, 54 traffic riders were deployed across various parts of the city. Contact facilities were also set up across 18 traffic units.

On February 17, the traffic riders successfully dropped off four students at their exam centers on time in the Thane, Kalwa, and Navi Mumbai MIDC areas.

On March 7, two students from Ambernath were stranded at the railway station. Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Pankaj Shirsat, Police Commissioner Kiran Balwadkar arranged a “Green Corridor” through traffic riders and used alternative routes to transport the students to their exam center in Kalyan.

The initiative, implemented under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ashutosh Dumbre and Joint Police Commissioner Dr. Dyaneshwar Chavan, ran from February 10 to March 18, and a total of 46 students were assisted.
