9 female engineers freed from torture

On the pretext of giving jobs, the NGO, which cheated a group of nine engineers was exposed on Wednesday.

Superwasi Foundation, an NGO operating from Yeoor lured engineering girls by offering them research jobs. They were hired to do research on Covid-19 and develop ventilators. An appointment letter mentioning a salary package of Rs. 6 lakh was given to these girls by this NGO.

However, after they joined, they were mentally harassed by the NGO. These girls were banned from communicating with their families. When we refused to abide by their instructions we were tortured and bullied, said one girl.

However, one girl discreetly managed to reach out to her father in Kerala. Local BJP workers received information of this wrongful act of NGO. They immediately raided the premises of the NGO and freed the girls. Vartaknagar police station is conducting further investigations.
