Summer Paddy and Vegetables Affected in Shahapur

Unseasonal rain since early May has caused heavy damage to summer paddy and vegetable crops in several villages of Shahapur. Farmers from villages like Cherpoli, Avare, Kambre, and others have suffered losses due to lack of canal water from Bhatsa Dam and continuous rains. BJP tribal wing vice-president Ashok Iranak has requested immediate crop loss assessment and financial aid through a letter to the tehsildar. Though paddy was ready for harvest, 20 days of rain has delayed harvesting, flattening the standing crops and causing distress to farmers.
